Dear TORC Dental patients and community,
As we navigate through this pandemic, we want to reassure our patients and community that TORC Dental is committed to the continuity of providing a safe and healthy environment for all our patients and staff.
We want to reassure our patients and community that we are following directives from the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Texas State Board of Dental Examiners day by day. Due to the developing nature of the public health event, we are monitoring closely with the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Center for Disease Control for any updates in regard to heighten standards in providing patient care as a way to limit patient and staff exposure to this virus.
Your health, and the health of our dedicated staff, matters to us and continues to be our primary concern. As recommended by these organizations listed above, TORC Dental will suspend all non-essential, non-urgent, and non-emergency dental treatment for the next three weeks – with flexibility and understanding based upon the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19. We will continue to be available to our patients as needed for emergency care and services.
As health care professionals, it is our responsibility in doing our part to help “flatten the curve.” If you have a dental emergency, please do not go to the emergency room. By concentrating on emergency dental care, this will alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments. Our office has currently been reviewing our appointment schedule. If you have a non-emergency appointment scheduled within the next three weeks, our office will be in touch to help reschedule your appointment.
TORC Dental will continue taking the initiative to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We have always exceeded all CDC and OSHA standards for infection control and due to recent directives, have also implemented new guidelines to ensure our dental practice is ready for patients with potential dental essential, urgent, and emergency concerns. The door handles, lobby, and front desk will be disinfected and sanitized multiple times a day, between each patient. Our operatories will continue to adhere to OSHA standards for infection and sterilization control along with the new guidelines.
We will continue to remain operational Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM, limiting our services to urgent, emergency, and essential care. Please call us at 512-607-6500 prior to coming to the practice for all treatment, service, and emergency inquiries. Appointments will be on a staggered schedule to follow social distancing recommendations and patients will be immediately escorted to the treatment room after being screened.
Patients will be pre-screened and informed on how we will be proceeding with their dental appointment. We highly recommend patients not to bring anyone else during his/her appointment, unless it is absolutely necessary. All employees will be screened everyday, including a record of temperature. Any employee or patient displaying symptoms, have been in contact with, or have health risks factors will be asked to leave.
With your health and safety in mind, all patients will be required to wash their hands and sanitize prior to start of the appointment and rinse for one minute with chlorhexidine gluconate or hydrogen peroxide to decrease the viral load in their mouth.
We urge you to be kind, practice social distancing, wash your hands. We are committed to your health and well-being and will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 nationally and within our community. We hope this unprecedented event subsides and life returns to normal where we can resume our regular patient care.
You may contact our office at 512-607-6500 if you have any questions or concerns.
