Implant-Retained Dentures

Secure and Comfortable Dentures in Dripping Springs, TX

Traditional dentures sit on your gums and are held in position with only adhesive gel or paste. As a result, these conventional dentures can easily shift out of place, rub your gums painfully, and even cause embarrassment when eating tough foods. Implant-retained dentures are different.

These modern dentures are secured via permanent dental implants. Since dental implants are anchored in the bone of your jaw, you can rest assured that your dentures will be incredibly stable. Implant-retained dentures, also called implant-supported dentures or overdentures, are conveniently removable for cleaning and simply “snap” back into place.

Implant-Retained Dentures versus All-On-4

All-On-4 is another dental arch replacement alternative that makes use of dental implants without having the palate covered. As you may guess from the name, the All-On-4 approach attaches a full arch of replacement teeth to at least four dental implants. This arrangement may be useful for patients who have adequate lip support.

With All-On-4, the two implants at the back of the mouth are usually angled rather than straight. This system requires meticulous oral hygiene.
